About Us Y'all...

The Country Jungle is located in rural Cherokee County, Alabama, where our

dogs have lots of room to run and play.

We attend every birth in order to monitor our moms progress and to assist in case of any complications. The puppies stay in the whelping room until 4 weeks of age then we move them to the Puppy Play Nursery.

In the Puppy Play Nursery they have a special sleeping area with an attached outdoor puppy play yard. This let's them get socialized to the outdoors, which also helpss with their transition from The Country Jungle to your home.

Meet our team y'all...

Hey everyone my name is Kaleb I am 13 years old and LOVE animals of all kinds. Here at The Country Jungle my main job is to love on the babies starting on the 3rd day. It teaches them to be sweet when they grow up and let's them know that no one will hurt them.  I never leave the mama out, she get's a lot of belly rub's and back scratches. Tiller alway's seems to get his share one way or another. See...

Derrick has the job of "daddy will do it".  He does everything from building pens to puppy- sitting. Our male dogs accept him as 'Top Dog' of the pack. They mind him quicker and better than any of us. We like to say he just speaks their language. :)

In the early morning sun this is how      you find Tiller... not a care in the       world until breakfast is served.

Beloved, Ms. Jessie, she was our Great- Great Grandmaw Bassett. She had been in retirement mode for many years. Ms. Jessie was proud to teach the young moms all she knew.  Ms. Jessie was 9 1/2 years old when she passed. She was precious! We miss you, baby girl!

Meet Katie, she has a special gift with animals. Here she is with Peanut, her aunt's poochie. Katie has "tamed" several wild (stray) animals in her 13 years. It's amazing watching her at work when all the adults don't know what to do she so gently takes over. Animals respond to her in a way that most people has never seen. Her role at the Country Jungle is being the "mom" in teaching the little ones and keeping the big ones in line.

My how I love opening my curtains in the early morning when the sun is shining on the lake and all the animals are excited to welcome a new day here at The Country Jungle.

Hi! I'm Tanya, the "Jungle Mom". I call life at The Country Jungle - GOOD! We strive to give our animal family the best lives possible and have a BLAST doing it. You can catch me doing just about anything around these parts, from cleaning cages, attending births, gathering eggs, kissing puppies, talking to the gerbils, you name it and I love doing it!
